International Lyceum Club of London

International: We are members of the Association of International Lyceum Clubs (AILC) which includes 66 clubs in 18 countries in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Members of our Club are invited to attend international events, such as the International Cultural Days and the International Congress.

Lyceum: The name was proposed by Jessie Trimble, an American member. It was chosen because it was easy to understand worldwide and was not restrictive. The name was known in America as a forum for lectures and discussion.

Club:  We are a private Club and members share the Lyceum values and philosophy. They agree to contribute to the life of the Club. Candidates to the Club must be proposed by an existing member and their application must meet the requirements described in the Constitution of the Club.  It is run by a Committee.
